OUR TEAM

Hi I’m Amy! Throughout my life, I’ve been an an entrepreneur, strategy & operations professional, Certified Professional Dog Trainer, but most importantly, I’m Theo’s mom. Theo is a 8 year old Maltese/Lhasa Apso mix who was matched to us by an NYC rescue. When Theo first came home in 2019, he defended his most prized possessions with his teeth, refused to have his harness put on, and barked at men on the street at night.

Desperate for help, I reached out to all my friends and family for recommendations for a dog trainer. After receiving many phone numbers for trainers, we had a few sessions with a well-intentioned trainer who suggested that Theo’s barking could be fixed with a shock collar! Luckily, through a another recommendation, we found School for the Dogs, where we discovered the power of science-based dog training. As Theo’s hair grew increasingly long and matted, so did the realization that he would be a nightmare to groom. After a long and desperate search, on the 9th page of Yelp listings, I finally found a review from a fellow dog owner about how this groomer worked wonders with her handling sensitive rescue Lhasa Apso.

Through these experiences, I realized there had to be a better way for dog owners to find quality care. In 2022, I left my job in the tech world, and earned the title of Certified Professional Dog Trainer through School for the Dogs. These days, I spend my time helping dogs and people live their best possible lives together through training, and building DigUp to be the most trusted source for quality pet care. Every provider on DigUp is personally vetted and endorsed by me. If you need help, or just want to chat, feel free to email me at hello@digup.nyc
